SongCat 2.0 Features – 2. Add to setlist on the fly

One of the key features that we felt we needed based on user feedback was the ability to add a song to a setlist ‘in-place’ during the performance. This might occur because the band leader has just decided that you are going to play a particular song or a request has come in from the audience or you have just decided to play the song anyway or the set may be a flexible one and you may only have 2 songs chosen when you start. Let’s face it, every chord sheet manager should have this feature!

Previously in SongCat, I had to create a setlist and then be careful to ‘play’ the setlist from the ‘create’ screen. This way I knew that if I needed to add another song, I could exit performance mode and this would take me back to the previous screen which was the ‘create setlist’ screen. I would then add a song, save the list and press ‘play’ again to go back into performance mode. The obvious drawback here is that it takes a while to do all this – meanwhile the band have already started the song!

We have added a feature in performance mode whereby you can search for a song right there and it is added into the list where you are. It only takes a few seconds to do this. Meanwhile the band are still searching for the song in their stone age books!

Just watch the video below to find out how to search for a song:
